I was thinking we could do a 64 team bracket reminiscent of March Madness with the forum's consensus of what the top 64 NHL teams of all time are. Seeding will come after that Right now I'm just looking for suggestions...

The First year, Roy was in the league they won the Cup, and do remember the last year the Leafs won Cup, 66/67, 2 best years. Those were the 2 Best Cup Teams.

Edmonton Oilers: Which Season?? On paper 85-86 was actually the best one, but they didn't win that year. I would go with 86-87 or 87-88.

New York Islanders: Any of the four Cup winners has to be on the brackett.

The 76-77 Habs were a phenomenal team. The 53-54 and 54-55 Red Wings were a better team than the 2001-02 Red Wings by a large margin.

The 1965-66 Red Wings that lost the cup to the Habs were a better team than the winning 2002-02 Red Wing team.

That may be true. I'm only 20..so unfortunately I couldn't watch those teams but I did watch every single game during the 01-02 year which is why I picked them on top of the many HOF players on it. List updated.
