Personal Signings/Autographs
A couple questions:
1. If you had the chance for the respective player to sign your card, would you?
2. How would you authenticate the autograph?
3. Would you ever get the player to sign a card already signed? What about add a personal note? What about a generic note?
Any information about getting the player to individually sign something for you would be great.

1) why not. Cards are very easy to carry around. So why not get it signed.
2) best way to authenticate the autograph would probably be to just get a picture of the player signing the card in question. If you're willing to pay dollars you could always pay for a service that authenticates cards.
3) why would you want two autographs on the same card? I think inscriptions are pretty cool (rookie of the year, Hall of Fame, etc.)
Just a question for you? What causing you to bring up these questions.

Great questions - getting IP or TTM autos is often a great experience. I still have fond memories of knocking on Andy Moog's door, chasing around all the players at his golf tournament, and various other youthful shenanigans.
1. Can, have, and will again.
2. There are grading services out there that do authentication. Or, if you know that there's a private signing being done with an agency you can get them to apply their holofoils and get you a COA. My favourite example:

3. Probably not on the 2x signed card, but if there's enough space you can always ask for a cool little thing to be added. If you ever meet Jarome Iginla, ask him to sign his full name on the card. You will get a laugh.

1. ofcourse, and I often do go to signings
2. often at public signings they store will have COA's available to buy. It is usually just a few bucks. to me it is worth it. I have a COA on a Chara card i had signed a few months ago.
3. doesn't make sense to me...personal notes are cool, but at signings, they often don't have time.

Giroux and I go way back so I see him every summer (just got back into card collecting this winter though)... The main part was the authentication but I realized the only time I'll need it is if I trade/sell my stuff which I'll likely never do with my Giroux collection (unless I have doubles). But I'll probably just take a picture and/or video of him signing the cards just in case.
Thanks for the responses!
