Beckett Grading Service Help Plz
Hi i was planning to send some cards for Grading and not sure what is the differnce between BGS and BCCG?? ? I can't seem to find anything on Beckett is so crowded in there...... and how much for how many cards?
I also have some ip auto that i want them to verify or should i go with PSA instead on that one?
As for packaging them to Beckett how is it done? Can anyone point me to a video or something? I try searching on youtube for proper way of packaging but all i got is ppl busting their beckett mailday packages.....
thx any help would be appeciated ... : )

I'll try and answer with what I know...
BGS is Beckett Grading Service and this is the 'real' grading service option.
BCCG is Beckett Collector's Club Grading and is basically an encapsulation service. Cards are not scrutinized closely and their 'real' grades are typically 1-2 full grades lower (i.e. a BCCG 9 is between a BGS 7 and a BGS 9) with newer cards being closer.
Price depends on how long you are willing to wait and range from $9-$26 /card with discounts for quantity.
Go with the slabs you like on IP Auto authentication. There is really no difference in realized 'value' based on what I've seen on eBay.
Shipping to Beckett is the same as any grading card company. They recommend card in sleeve in a card saver. Put the card savers between heavy card board and ship...
I've never had personal experience, but I've actually heard good things about BGS' customer service. I've read quite a few stories of how helpful they are on phone calls. You may want to give that a try, too.
Hope that helps!

I just want to add a note to Canadians or International hobbyists. Be careful what you write down as the dollar value of the card because Canadian customs or International customs may charge you tax on the value when the card is shipped back to you. Beckett will declare the value of your card if you want it shipped insured.

BCCG gets a lot of crap from people, but I'm a fan of the BCCG. Granted I am newly re entering the hobby and back when I used to collect, there was no grading, in fact there was no internet either. But the BCCG is perfect for me. A) they cost a lot less then BGS. B) when shopping online, at the very least you know its REAL and in decent shape, which isn't always the case with ungraded cards and C) it's protected in a sealed case.
I realize BGS is much better because they really scrutinize and you know a 10 is really a 10 and that's not the case with BCCG. I guess it comes down to the difference between "collectors" grade and "investment" grade. I am not an investor, I just want to know the card I buy is legit and in good shape.

Usually Beckett will mark your package as "Canadian goods returning" so you won't be tax.
If you have more questions, I can help you, I'm sending package to BGS every 3-4 months.
