One thing Panini could easily fix!
With all the criticism that people lay on Panini, theres one thing that I never hear people complain about, and its probably one of the easiest things to fix, and would probably help alot.........better photo selection!!!!! It seems like 95% of their base cards are closeups of the players dribbling up the court. Its like they think that every card has to have a clear shot of the players face. One of the great things about UD and Topps was their photo selection, crazy shots from behind the backboard or an awesome shot of Nate Robinson dunking over Spud Webb, just much more variety. I feel its one thing that they could easily change and would make a huge difference.
What do you guys think?

Well may not matter in the whole scheme of things unless they change other things, but if there going to be the only NBA licensed product it wouldnt hurt to change it, although I dont expect them too either way.

Me and a few other members have been screaming this for months...
You're spot on man and I'm with you 110%!!!
Not only does their photography dept. not have an eye for the game, their design staff WAY overdoes it with the PS (photoshop).
Idk what they have against dunks, other players, the court, the hoop or the backboard.
Now not ALL extinct companies/sets where perfect but like you said there was at least some variety....
With Panono, you almost have to go all the way back to their first release and the Jam Masters set to get good photography.Last edited by MatthewLee; 04-24-2011 at 03:55 PM.

MatthewLee - Yea, thats one thing I noticed right away was almost every shot was the same. They'll throw in a nice action shot once in awhile, but 90+% is the same shot every time. Its just so boring. At least with the Donruss set the showed more than just the player, but even some of those are photoshopped and most are still just player dribbling up court.
520 - I agree that theres other issues that are even worse, just seems like photography would be the easiest thing to fix.

Yeah I noticed that myself, I dont want a rookie card of a player in his summer league jersey, or at a photo shoot.

Yeah photo selection is key, but also design, panini doesnt seem to think outside the box w/design, and judging by the ammount of products they put out, Id say they really dont care either.
