    2011 OHL Selection...

    ... is well under way.

    http://ohldraft.ilap.com/ps2011/#

15 year old Aaron Ekblad was not surprisingly taken Number 1 overall by the Barrie Colts. Ekblad was granted exceptional status as an under-16 entering the draft. Already 6ft 3" and 200lbs, he's only going to get bigger.

P.K Subban's brother, Jordan, who is regarded as being a better player than his NHL brother was at that age was again, not surprisingly selected by the Belleville Bulls. P.K honed his game in Belleville and the other sibling, Malcolm is between the pipes there also.

Max Domi, the son of former Leaf Tie of the Don Mills Flyers was taken 8th overall by the Kingston Frontenacs.

Anyone else here follow the midget leagues?

Nick Ritchie got called up to play with my Jr. A team this year. Big strong, physical kid, easily good enough to play with us and at only 15. I think he will be better then Ekblad in the long run.

Don't really follow midget stuff - but there were a few names in there I have heard of (leading up the OHL draft).

Domi is a funny one..... he was considered to be the best forward available, but he & Dad (apparently) really wanted to be in Kingston. He made a lot of noise the last couple of weeks, suggesting he may go NCAA - just so his draft stock would fall, and Gilmour would be able to take him.

I know this isnt the OHL but my little brother, Jordan Papirny(magicfreak29 on these boards) was drafted to the WHL brandon wheat kings two days ago and picked 22nd pick in the first round as a goaltender.

Watch out for Jacob McNamara. I played with him for 2 years, he's got amazing potential.

Also watch out for Alex Talcott of the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Went to school with him throughout elementary/middle school. He's 16 like me and a Lumberjack... lol

    Wow, that's awesome!

Eliteprospects lists your brother as 5ft 4". That's small.

Glad to see Belleville got another Subban. In total, Belleville has now had all 3 in their system (P.K., Malcolm, and now Jordan).

Congrats to your brother on making the WHL! That's a great accomplishment

that was last year in his first year bantam, he is now 6ft. that Eliteprospects guy isn't the smartest thing out there. I looked at his predictions for the draft and they were WAY WAY WAY off.

Looks like I might see your brother play then, since I live in Brandon. Will probably be a year or two before he makes the team though
