    Small Names Big Records?

I just wanted to know what players who are not huge names that you have tried to collect as they have had a big feat in a sport. I will give Matt Stairs as a for instance as he is just one Grand Slam away from being tied for 19th all time for Grand Slams! I would have never picked him as a huge name, but he would be a target for someone after that list. There are numerous guys who have won awards like Cy Young, MVP and even ROY awards and not be big names a few years later. Walt Weiss was a ROY in fact the third one in an A's uniform in a row, but just an every day MLB player. I know some guys who chase a certain championship teams will even try to get that one player who had a single AB for their team in a championship season and never made it back to the Bigs! Who is the small name guy you need for a project, what is the project and have you gotten him yet?

Hey, here is an all-time baseball list that will blow your mind. Did you know that Carl Crawford has the most triples of any active player? He is still outside of the top 100 All Time list in triples! My how the game has changed. Last I knew Crawford entered this year around 140 and the all time leader was at 309! It would be awesome to see him make the top of that list! Here is a chart of them:

How about Fernando Tatis of the Cardinals- Hit 2 Grand Slams in the SAME inning of a game.

Two no-hitters in one season. Not perfect games. The others were Johnny Vander Meer who threw no-hitters on consecutive outings and Allie Reynolds, Nolan Ryan and Roy Halladay were the others.

I love this stuff the history of the game really intrigues me. Here are a few feats that I have thought about putting together a project.

Unassisted Triple Play - only 15 in history, 8 of which are probably still living.

4 Homers in one game - only 15 in history, 8 of which are probably still living. This one would be tough to graph because it includes Mays and Schmidt.

Hitting for the natural cycle - Looks like only 14 in histroy, with maybe half still living. There are only 3 players in history to hit for a cycle and hit for a natural cycle in their career. They are Ken Boyer, Bob Watson and Brad Wilkerson. Unfortunately Boyer is no longer with us.

Mike Cameron and Bret Boone are the only players to hit back to back home runs twice in the same inning and Nate Colbert drove in 13 runs in a double header the most ever. Oh, while this may not be a record Greg Harris is the only pitcher to switch pitch in a game.
