well, i'm not complaining about the inserts... they have some cool themes... but the collation of the products has been really off (i heard putting together a set of certified is a nightmare)... and it looks to be the same here with contenders. in my one and only box so far i got 2 james neal behind the class insert cards.

Wow, you're complaining about the inserts? Would you rather have all base instead? I rarely open wax, too risky, so maybe I don't understand your point of view. I, for one, like the Contenders inserts and will likely build the Leather Larceny set. I also think the hard signed rookie tickets are cool too. I can completely understand the collation issues though, seems to be a reccuring theme for Panini.

if the price was a little lowered yes i would prefer Base lol, in both cases i'll give them away...when you open a lot, you don't know what to do with them..thats why

The price point really wouldn't be affected that much if the inserts were removed. Maybe $1 or $1.50 less, the packs are only $6 each to begin with. Not exactly a high end product by today's standards what were you expecting? The real problem is the box price, 24 packs a box is too many for a $6 pack in my opinion.

I would not say it's the worst product, definitively not. Hard-signed autos, some cool ideas but like most products out there, if you don't pull the top 6 rookies then you lose. It's clearly becoming a ''stars players only'' hobby where most of the players are worthless...

Collation is a problem, yes.
But worst product? Not even remotely close.
Great designs, hard-signed rookie autographs, subsets that are attracting interest, and strong early secondary sales = a very good product that is once again beleaguered by the ongoing collation problem. Someone pulled 6 Eberle RC's out of his 3 cases, so I doubt he's complaining too much about that particular issue.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I'm with you on this one Max. It's funny reading all the comments here so far and seeing that the Hard signed auto's is being heralded as a great thing and a selling point.
IMO all auto's should be hard signed and anything less is just a lazy company that wants to put products out according to their timeline without any thought for the length of the process.

I stuck around the card shop for a bit after doing my box and a half and I can't believe how awful some of the breaks were. All it seemed like was duplicate after duplicate of low end rookies. Sure some of the cards look nice but at this price point there is no way I will be opening this stuff anymore. This product is a big time loser in my books.

I am with Jbudny on this, as a 90's collector the inserts were the pulls.
sounds like a major collation issue. i do like the leather larceny though.
