It is not the same without Jordan. I remember that I will watch a Bulls game just to see what Jordan was going to do that day. I do not feel like that anymore. He was a player that will keep you on the edge of your seat every time he touched the ball

Lebron has the potential to surpass Jordan, but at this point still not yet

I have a really nice LBJ rookie collection, including his SPA Auto Patch RC /25, but I would not even put Lebron in the same breath YET. I will say it again, the issue that most people have with Lebron is the decision in HOW he did it not that he left Clev [Clev fan base excluded]. Lebron was beloved before the decision by most, but he became public enemy #1 after the decision. In all actuality, Lebron going to Miami was good for the NBA in that they now had their villian. the two players that people love to hate are kobe and Lebron. They are superstars with an edge. I liked Wade coming out of Maquette. I liked Bosh coming out of GT. Lebron was just a phenom who was a man child in HS and carried that over to the NBA. Becuase the NBA is a players league and not a team league Lebron looked at the opportunity to get with a couple of other superstars to form a dominient team and the results speak for themselves.
This is the reason many fans hate the Yankees because they went out an bought talent, but they did not reach the promise land more times than not.

+1 on this. Where has the magic gone? Not just Lebron but no other players really make me feel that way right now. Maybe there is too much talent in the NBA right now and we are desensitized to amazing-ness.

That is a good point. There was talent when Jordan was playing but it was different. Like defensive players (Ewing, Barkley, etc), then you have the passers (Magi, Stockton), the you have the 3-point shooters (Hodges, Kerr, MIller). Now it seems like most stars can dominate in different aspects of the game. No fun because they are all pretty even but no one is exciting to watch.

I'll chime in here now as I've had the opportunity to watch Jordan from the beginning of his career to the end as well as Lebron up to this point. Lebron has talent there is no doubt about it but the problem that many people have with him, including myself, is that he lacks the drive and heart that Jordan had. Jordan was a fierce competitor as well as a perfectionist. His whole career he strived to be better and worked hard to get his accomplishments. Lebron has pretty much been the same his whole career and hasn't strived to improve his game because in his mind he thinks he's a god or the "chosen" one. His attitude and ego suck and he's a notorious whiner on the court. Now this is unfortunately a result of the media hype he was getting as a high school kid where he was too immature and let his head swell up with dilusions of grandure. It's kind of stuck with him though as he's aged and is probably another reason people hate him so much. Lebron has unquestionable talent but he'll never earn the respect that Jordan had. The smartest thing I've ever heard Lebron say was recently when he responded to the Pippen comment by saying Jordan was better.
