How do you....
THoes of you that make cards or just know photoshop how do you cut out only the player so well?
Is it a tool or ?
Any help would be great thanks.

I use the Magnetic Lasso tool to cut out the players in Photoshop.

Yep. I make sure that the feathering is set to 1 to get a little smoother feel.

Also, the higher the resolution the photo, the better your cut will turn out.

I can't get the hang of the wand. I'm working on cropping out NHL goalies and it keeps grouping the ice and any white on the uniforms or equipment as the same. Even on hi-res images I am having this issue. The wand also is not making clean cut and I have to go over the edges with an eraser. I have mostly using the erasing tool to cut-out the image.

Use the lasso tool, not the wand. You can control the area you want to select and delete much easier.
