    PC Question...

Im thinking about starting fresh on a PC. I want to concentrate on 1 person, and I guess try and "super collect" him. I want a player that is pretty well under the radar, but could have potential to turn into a big star. I was hoping you guys could give me some opinions on who would be the best for that. Thanks,

    Cameron

i would wait for the victory checklist to come out and pick 1 rookie our of it, likely a defenseman (cost less) and a player not in a hockey centric city. That's of course assuming like you said your goal is to super collect him ( you need to start in his rookie year I feel). Of course you should just collect a player you like, as for someone who might turn into a star, it kinda sounds like your hoping to flip the cards. just my thoughts

It has happened all too often where someone wasn't sure who to collect, picked a player they thought would turn out to be a great player and spent tons of money on that player, only to be dissapointed that the player didn't pan out the way they had hoped or got traded from their favorite team. My thinking is that if you're going to collect a player, you should collect one that you like their style of play, attitute, etc., and you would stick with regardless of what jersey they are wearing.

I have to agree with pick a player that you like because of how they play and their attitude toward the game. I collected only baseball up until last year. I was looking for a player to do a PC of and didn't want to do a player on my favorite baseball team so after watching parts of the winter olympics I decided to collect Ryan Miller of the Sabres. I never really watched hockey before that and now I do so not only did it open up my collection to a total different spectrum I also found a new sport to like and watch. JMO

Why wouldnt I pick some I like? I definitely wouldnt collect a Penguin or a Bruin. Its not that I hate the all of the players on those teams, but just the teams.

Im not looking to flip the cards after, solely for a hobby and because I love hockey. But I dont want to collect a "dud" so that if for whatever reason I have to get rid of my collection, I will not have a real difficult time getting rid of them.

I really like Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Young, Defenseman, Swedish, and plays for a non hockey craved city. Played 48 games with Phoenix last year and did pretty good.

If I wait until the 11/12 checklist to come out to pick a player, I havent even watched them play yet, so I dont know if I like them or not.

Sounds like you have made a decision. :)
