I think its cleanup duty this year for ones from the past that were passed over even though deserving

As much as I'd love to see him in the Hall, I don't think Trevor Linden really stands a chance.
As much as I never liked him, I think Ed Belfour is the only one on that list that should make it.

Those are the only two names on that list that even stand out as in the conversation. I agree on Belfour as the more likely candidate.

Nieuwendyk, Gilmour, Belfour and Mark Howe......a very good crop for this year......I hope Linden does make it someday......

This choice was well known as early as 1995, so no big deal

3 guys that definitely needed to be in and Mark Howe.
Maybe I'm too young to really realize that he deserves to be in there, but Mark Howe? Really?

Mark Howe was one of the best d-men of the 1980s, and his WHA years in the 70s were pretty darn good too.
If you add up his points from both leagues - he'd rank 4th all time in career points amoung defenseman. Maybe adding the two together isn't exactly a fair comparison, but I think think you had to consider it.
Should he be in the HOF ? He's more worthy (IMO) than several other members, so I wouldn't call it a bad pick.
