I don't really like acetate cards but I think these look way better than other recent acetate stuff. Really nice looking cards.

What do you guys think are more desirable? YG Acetate or Ice /99? Looks like Acetates are far more rare.Last edited by JayT_59; 03-12-2014 at 09:26 AM.

On the basis of appearance YG Acetate are nicer by a long shot.
They are twice as thick and seem to be part high end card on a Acetate base
Value wise seem to be around the population of the HG ( just guessing ) so I think they would be very desirable.
If they made a base set of these cards I would collect this set

I wonder if this stuff got leaked "accidentally" for this reason. Create hype for the boxes and provide a testing ground for a acetate based set. The reaction from collectors on these seem to be pretty positive from what I've seen.

I would also love to see a base set of acetate cards. The 42 Clear Cut insert set in Team Canada looks awesome.
Wonder if UD could transform its ICE set into a complete acetate set? Guess you would have base, rookies, and autos as you cannot get memorabilia into an acetate card. Maybe make the base set large/or number of cards per pack small and then do something like UDS1/S2 where there are 6 rookies per box. But maybe have some be tiered like in ICE with smaller print runs and numbered. Maybe throw one auto per box as well. Thoughts?

Probably right, the prospect of cracking series 2 isn't too exciting, but this gives it some excitement.....The fact that they are a surprise and so rare is why they are so popular....make a set out of them and meh....look in the future for YG canvas Exclusives...not saying it is bad, but it is shrewd marketing to sell a TON of boxes that usually have little return...

I like where the tone of this thread is going - I've wanted to see more acetate cards on the market for a while now as I think they look great.

Wonder if Dr. Price has ever considered doing an acetate set? What type of theme would you suggest to ITG for such a set?

I swear I have a Leclair GU that came out of early 2000 UD Ice
Anyone else ???
I never broke much Pannini but really like how they have the Private Signing over a series of product ie low to high end
Maybe UD can do something like that with these Acetate cards ?
