Four card boxes from '89, '90, & '91 - sell, open, or keep?

    Hey everybody,

I'm new to this forum--I just found this in my parent's attic last night.

I have 30 packs from 1989 - "The Official NFL Card"

    36 packs from Score's Series 2 - 1990

and 67 Bowman packs from 1991

I used to dabble in trading cards, so I got extremely excited when I found these until I looked them up and I realized that they aren't worth all that much. There are some decent rookies in the 90-91 set (Brett Favre, Emmitt Smith). But they also aren't worth a crazy amount considering I don't believe these sets were particularly exclusive.

I came here for a suggestion since I am somewhat lost on what to do. Should I sell them, open them in the hopes of a nice RC, or keep them for another few decades?

    Thanks,
    Pete

I'm sitting on maybe half a dozen boxes from the junk wax era I bought super cheap a few years ago. I figure I'll open them with my kids someday, maybe save one for when I retire to just get a hit of nostalgia.

The 1989 packs of Pro Set could yield something decent but honestly you would make your most money if you offered to sell the stuff on Craigslist and have somebody drive to your house and pick the stuff up that really wants it. Now I don't know where you live (you could be in Alaska and that wouldn't be a good option) but generally junk wax cards like this get top dollar on sites like that because the shipping cost on here or eBay would just make the price for them too unrealistically high for the buyers.

I agree with @pwaldo, I have a lot of those years too and I sell them locally at an antique store and an flea market!
Football: Emmitt Smith and CeeDee Lamb!
    Baseball: Aaron Judge/Adley Rutschman/Derek Jeter/Anthony Volpe!
Only collect Football/Baseball cards, but I have lots of Basketball/Hockey cards and set to trade for BB and FB!
