Bullet Joe Simpson D Part of the large group elected to the HOF in '63. There are articles and polls that question his qualifications, so clearly, he is not among the best all time at his position.
Earl Seibert- A thug with less than impressive stats. Known for being extremely physical and inflicting an injury on Howie Morenz that led to his death days later.

Bouse Hutton G turn of the century goalie with less than 40 games of available statistics
Charlie Gardiner G 7 years in the NHL and what a career it was! 42 of his 112 wins were by shutout, 2 Vezina Trophies and a Stanley Cup. 112 wins against 151 losses.
Sadly, Charlie passed away at age 29 from an untreated illness. I have no doubt he belongs in the HOF.

I'm going with more goalies today....
Clint Benedict G
Tiny Thompson G
Not knocking these guys at all (especially Thompson) but again, I'm not keeping anyone around in net, who played prior to the Origional 6 era.

@30ranfordfan Thanks for the heads up.
I will go with Steamer Maxwell R a turn of the century player turned coach and then referee. There is no way to measure a referee's performance and I don't think our intent was to rank the top four from this category.

Silas Griffis D, R
Didier Pitre D–R–RW
Both men were early 20th century skaters who played in 133 and 127 games in which their stats are available. Its just impossible to compare them to more recent HOF inductees.

Respectable career no doubt, but I'm going to have to eliminate Sid Abel (C-LW) tonight. Less than a point per game player (612 GP - 472 Pts) just won't cut it against others on this list.
I'll also eliminate goaltender Alec Connel (G). His numbers were great for the era, but again, just won't cut it with the other goalies on the HOF list, especially since he never even reached 200 wins (193).Jhonas Enroth Card Collector & Host of the Hidden Content
