Hello from Pickering - near Toronto in the Great White North

Hi Everyone,

Alex K here - have been a hockey card collector since I was a kid in the 70s. I was fortunate enough to amass a rather large collection of late 70s and 80s cards thanks to my older cousin that would buy boxes and simply drop by and hand over all the duplicates to me. And if anyone was thinking about it yes at one point I had 9 mint Gretzky rookie cards in my collection...that is until I got sucked into the world of playing knocksies or cards against the wall. I still have 2 in PSA 5 and 7 shape, oh well who knew!

I collected baseball, football, basketball and non-sports cards, comics and Star Wars as well. Since then I branched out by learning about the things my kids were invested in like Funko Pops, Cars Movie cars and other movie, film etc collectibles.

I am a set builder but have not been doing this for some time (probably since 2012), however interest has been renewed since Covid and my kids have grown up and I no longer have sports coaching duties. I used to be on the Beckett's trading cards pages until that collecting page/site closed down. Was able to meet many great collectors along the way and enhance my collection as well as helping those collectors do the same. Anyways that's me, and am looking forward to getting back into collecting and finishing up sets and start new ones.

Alex your found a great place to help fill up your sets you been lacking since 2012. One of the best hockey forums around bar none so you should have that sport covered. As for the other sports there quite a few members who can help you out but shipping cost to Canada is definitely not cost effective unless it larger deals.
