By rangers standards this a heck of a deal! This is what they were paying Gomez and I think Gaborik outscore Gomez in the 17 games he played last year.

That's the thing though, how many games will they get him for? THat's my only concern as we all know he's a very talented player.

Like it has been said, Gaborik is SUPREMELY talented but his health is a HUGE concern. I knwo the Kings were very interested but at the end of the day two factors came into play:
- The team doctors didn't think his groin issues were ever going to be resolved
- They truly covet Kovalchuk

on the bright side, the Rangers have one of the best training staff in the league. think NYR was one of the teams with least amount of total games lost due to injury last year. guess it'll really be the time to see if Gabby is made of glass or if it was the Minn. training staff.
also, does he count against the cap if he gets injured?

If he plays over 70 games the Rangers will be laughing!

THe Rangers are still going to go after Kovy !
I like this deal...let's just hope he's not another Kovalev...great everywhere but NY.
I Still think they should have moved Drury...can you see Scotty flying into the zone and making that saucer pass to Gabby ? Sweet
