Big Concept, Product reconfiguration, including ITG and Pacific/Topps

I think if Pacific and Topps got back in it would really help things, a lot. In 03-04, two of my favorite produts were Topps Pristine and Pacific Luxury Suite. I think that if ITG gets a license that then ITG would REALLY help out the hobby, they have excellent produts as is. Imagine if next year we see ITG BAP Signature Series, ITG Game Used, ITG BAP Memorabilia, ITG Used Signature Series, etc. The hobby might be overflooded, but it'd be overflooded with great cards. If Pacific and Topps came back in we could add sets like Crown Royale, Bowman, Pacific Calder (GREAT for RCs), Pacific Invincible, Pacific Prism, Pacific Quest for the Cup, Private Stock Reserve (ANOTHER GREAT set), Titanium (ANOTHER GREAT set), Topps C55, TOPPS PRISTINE, maybe even a Topps Traded again. I think that if UD could bring back two sets from pre lockout years, they would be Beehive and Premier Collection. If you add some of these in to the mix and let's say each company can make 10 sets or so, you would have maybe 1 or 2 low end sets for kids from each company, 5 or so Mid End products like SP Authentic, SPx, Artifacts, Between the Pipes, Heroes & Prospects, etc; and then 4 or so high end products like The Cup, BAP Ultimate Memorabilia, Pacific Luxury Suite, etc.

Here would be my product run down if I were to determine everything:

    UD:
    Low End:
    Victory
    MVP

    Mid End:
    UD (1 and 2 combined)
    Artifacts and Champs mixed together
Black Diamond, UD Black, and UD Ice combined, along with Trilogy Plexi cards
OPC and Beehive (if brought back)
    SP Authentic and BAP combined
    SPx

    High End:
    OPC Premier
The Cup, along with SP Game Used Letter and Number Marks
Ultimate Collection and Premier Collection (if brought back)

    ITG:
    Low End:
    ITG Action

    Mid End:
    Between the Pipes
    Heroes & Prospects
    BAP Memorabilia
    BAP Signature Series

    High End:
    BAP Ultimate Memorabilia
    ITG Used Signature Series
    ITG Superlative
One franchise set (Like the Leafs set)

    Pacific/Topps:
    Low End:
    Pacific
    Topps
    Topps Traded & Future

    Mid End:
Bowman and Bowman Chrome (Chrome cards randomly inserted)
    Crown Royale
    Pacific Calder
Pacific Invincible, Pacific Prism, and maybe Vanguard
    Topps C55

    High End:
    Pacific Luxury Suite
    Private Stock and Titanium
    Topps Pristine

    A total of 31 different products. 6 low-end products for kids, 15 mid-end products, and 10 high-end products.

What do you guys think? TALK IT UP!

YES, I KNOW THERE ARE TOO MANY PRODUCTS, BUT I'M JUST PUTTING MY THOUGHTS DOWN ON PAPER, WELL, COMPUTER, LOL.

Sorry for the long read too, this is my longest post ever.

    :)

That'd be crazy, hockey NEEDS ITG. Didn't Pacific and Topps go bankrupt after 2003-04 though?

Too many products if there are extra companies with licences. And you cant combine series 1 and 2 as it splits up the rookie class so some of the late starters can still get in for a current year. To many products is the reason i stopped collecting in the mid 90's(too many products) and would stop again.

I know, too many products, I know, this would never happen. UD would be released when UD 2 is released so all of the rookies would be in it. It'd be a 100 card subset, then collectors would really have a nice RC set to collect.

That's what I heard about Pacific too, Topps is still alive though, they came back this year with the puck attax thingy...

Would be a shame to still have to deal with the ''ITG cards are worth less because they do not have a license'' crap. So dumb to think that a game-used card is worth less because it doesn't have an NHL logo on the player...

yeah but still they already have the complete jerseys of player like Hall, Fowler, Duchene, etc while the best UD has is a shield and stick/glove used cards

I loved Pacific, and i actually like looking for boxes on ebay now at really cheap prices, like 03-04 prism box i got for only $30, 03-04 supreme i got for $26. yea there would be way too many sets to follow here but more competition equals better quality sets. but if u use someone like bogosian who probably has a base card in every set except for the cup/opc premier/a few others, those base/parallels/inserts add up quickly. good idea though, i would like to see spa and bap combined lol

I know, I'm all for ITG, I just hate all the haters that give ITG cards a lesser value just for the lack of license...
