    2009 TNA Impact Wrestling

    2009 TNA Impact Wrestling

    Tristar Sell Sheet

    Product Description:
Each of the 100 Impact cases includes two special kinds of Impact boxes, "Maximum Impact" with 6 hits and "Impact" with 4 hits. I received the regular "Impact" box with four guaranteed hits. There are six "Maximum Impact" boxes per case and 18 regular Impact boxes per case. There are six cards per pack and 20 packs per box.

Guaranteed hits per regular Impact box:
2 Autograph cards #/60 or less
1 TNA kiss card #/99 or less OR a 3rd autograph card
1 parallel card #/20 or less

The standard sized cards have a full color action shot of the wrestler. Most of the cards are orientated vertical but a few have a horizon or landscape shot. The card fronts or bordered with a red "diamond steel" and chain link fence graphic on the bottom. The company name, set name and wrestler name are all easily recognizable on the card fronts. The card backs have a different full color photo of the wrestler, with ring ropes going behind the photo. There is also moderate career highlights listed. Most of the cards also list some personal information about the wrestler from the "real world," either what charities they support to favorite hobbies or pets. The cards are glossy, but not high gloss. Think of an Upper Deck base card, NOT a Certified base card.

    What I pulled:
    104 unique cards
99/99 base set card A complete set plus the checklist!
    16 duplicates
    3 auto cards
    1 numbered parallel

    Base card front and back:

    The Hits:
Sheik Abdul Bashir Purple parallel 1/1
Quad Auto Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Booker T, and Scott Steiner Blue #/25
Eric Young Autograph Purple parallel 1/1
Kurt Angle Autograph Gold parallel #/60 Inscribed "'96 Gold"

    ************************************************** *******

This was a great and fun rip. The cards themselves look good with a simple and clean design and layout. The perfect collation yielded a complete set plus the checklist with minimal duplication. The three auto cards all look really sharp! Interesting subsets to look for in the base set; The Icon: Sting, Champions, Then and Now, and Made an Impact. The only drawback to some of the cards is the quality of photography and shot selection was all over the board. Some of the action shots looked downright awkward and some of the candid shots were just goofy and not the best shot to use to represent the wrestler. On the other hand, some of the shots were just downright awesome! The "off the top rope" action shots were cool and I think some of the ring entrance shots were the best. In future releases, I think it would be nice to see more action shots, however awkward they may be, and less "standing in the ring, talking on the mic" shots. This is Total Non-stop Action, right?

    The Bottom Line:
One box, a complete set, two 1/1s and a quad auto? Yes please! There are lots of different ways to collect and chase with the subsets and parallels, but seriously, go buy a box and get the complete set! This set is sure to please for any wrestling fan, but I got a real kick seeing a lot of the names I grew up with watching the other show and remembering the "old-school" wrestlers. Honestly, for fun and value this is a can't miss box, just be sure to trade all of your Sting parallels to me!

    The Final Score:
    Final Ratings (Out of 5):
    Base set collect-ability: 5/5
    Big-hit Hunter: 5/5
    Prospector Hunter: N/A
    Overall Design: 4/5
    Fun: 5/5
    Value: 5/5
    Re-buy: 4/5
    Overall Quality: 4/5

    Overall: 32/35 (91% = A)
