And this is why I love this site so much!
Ok, bear with me- Im still a bit overwhelmed.
I was recently hired as a teacher at a low income school- it isnt quite fully teacher funded classrooms, but its close. I put out a call offering to trade some of my cards for school supplies to make sure my students who are unable to purchase supplies still have what they need. I got a couple replies, nothing very serious though...until I got a message from Steve (Allsportz)
Steve said he was sending me a box of stuff- no return needed, no charge, just to help my kids out!
He told me what was gonna be in it, but it arrived today, and he understated vastly what was in there. I wont list it all out- but the box weighed 17.5 pounds. In it were pencils, pens, colored pencils, sharpies, grading pens, rulers, scissors, paper clips, calculators, protractors, index cards, binders, and Im sure Im missing some stuff.
Steve, Ive thanked you before, and I will do it again- and I will also now publicly point out and make note of what an absolutely wonderful person you are. I honestly dont think anyone outside of my family has ever done something so amazingly wonderful for me.
Ive never met Steve in person, and we dont trade all that often- so the fact that he was willing to do this for an almost stranger is simply amazing.
In this day when people are so concerned about what they can do to better themselves, often at the expense of others, it is refreshing, amazing, and simply awe-inspiring that people like Steve exist.
Mad props and kudos my friend! I hope that someday I can repay you for your kindness, or at the very least pay it forward with the same good intentions that you had when you sent me this box!
Thanks for reading, and Steve- thank you my friend!
Ed

Wow. That's just outstanding. What an unreal gesture. I don't know Steve at all, but that tells me everything I need to know about him.
And as an extra note, a hearty thanks to both you, Ed, and Steve. In a time where education has been first on the budgetary chopping blocks, it's positively heartwarming to see two people who care so vehemently about the youth of this country. The way our education system is being treated by our political leadership (frankly, both Democrats, who are spineless on the issue, and Republicans, who are ignorant of it) is bordering on criminal.
I'll end it before I go off on an unwarranted political tangent. But it put a smile on my face to see two people who care as much as you both do about our schools.
Best regards to you both,
Kurt

I'll second this. I'm going into my 4th year of teaching this year and I couldn't be more happy with what I'm doing!
