sports cards
Hi there I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have just received a ton of sports memorabilia. Thousands upon thousands of cards, magazines...I couldn't even begin to explain (my basement is full). The cards for the most part are in boxes with plastic hard casings, they came from an older gentleman in Rawdon, Nova Scotia and he has collected cards and memorabilia for years and years. I am not one for ebaying these 1 by 1 or going through this stuff as I tried yesterday for a few hours and my head is spinning. I couldnt even get through one box there were so many. Anyways my question is what do I do with them. There are even Elvis and The Beatles cards in there. I am sure this collection is worth a pretty penny but I just can't have all this stuff in my home. How would I sell these?? Without breaking it all up...I don't have the time or the energy.
Any advice would be great, thanks
Kerri

kerri there are several options open to you. You could sell it all in one big lot on eBay, or break it into smaller categorized lots (ie: lot of baseball cards, lot of music memorabilia, etc), you could visit your local hobby or card shop and see what they say (be careful with this option though, some card shop owners will try and con the unexperienced). Also there are several online auction houses that will sell your goods for you (consignment) and then they get a percentage of the profits. Some of the more well known consignment auctions houses are Geppi's Memorabilia Roadshow, Coach's Corner Sports Auctions, Robert Edward Auctions and Historic Auctions. If you have any question feel free to message me.

Also if you can give us a better feeling of what you have would help alot. What years are the cards mainly from. If you have auto's who are they of? What condition is everything in? etc.

thanks for all the info guys. I have been trying to look through things but this is so overwhelming some of the boxes are marked like all Gretzky and all Hull etc. I am putting the names and numbers in the internet and I do see that some are worth money like the rookie cards. But there are literally thousands, not just hockey, but baseball and football etc. Even a Michael Jordan rookie. I am thinking of just putting the whole thing on Ebay together but how do I show people that there is good stuff in there? I do NOT want to look through it all it would take me forever!!! There are lots of years from 60's to 90's he seemed to have been to a lot of games and got autographs because one box is marked autographs and all the cards signed have ticket stubs with them like Darryl Sittler, guy lefluer (also autographed p[ictures of himand others but I forget lol and well lots of others...there are comic books too and Disney cards and spiderman cards and marvel comic cardxs and pokeman...beatles and elvis oh my god I dont even no where to begin this is insane to think someone actually went through this stuff at one time. Anyways what should I ask for all this? I know you all say I should look through it but I just dont have the time. Confusing this is lol
anyways thanks again for your info

when you post hit the reply button. and not the post quick reply thing at the bottom of the screen. There will then be a button at the bottom of that page that says manage attachments. Click on that and you should be able to upload you image.
