Washington Post admits covering Obama over McCain by 3 to 1

Finally, at least one main stream media company admits their bias. :) Anyone else offended by the media trying to pick the next President?
Democrat Barack Obama has had about a 3 to 1 advantage over Republican John McCain in Post Page 1 stories since Obama became his party's presumptive nominee June 4. Obama has generated a lot of news by being the first African American nominee, and he is less well known than McCain -- and therefore there's more to report on. But the disparity is so wide that it doesn't look good.

In overall political stories from June 4 to Friday, Obama dominated by 142 to 96. Obama has been featured in 35 stories on Page 1; McCain has been featured in 13, with three Page 1 references with photos to stories on inside pages. Fifteen stories featured both candidates and were about polls or issues such as terrorism, Social Security and the candidates' agreement on what should be done in Afghanistan.

    I'm offended because it's only a 3 to 1 ratio, and not 5 to 1

i guess my only question is...why does this need to be pointed out?

Unless you live in DC, you're not picking up the Washington Post in the morning anyway...maybe they are just catering to their customers, like most businesses do...The last 2 presidential elections, DC voted 90% for the democrat compared to only 10% for the republican

While it isn't supposed to, the vast majority of businesses and media cater to people's needs. This is nothing different at all. There are a lot of things that aren't supposed to happen, yet they do.

I am starting to agree with the premise posted by RedGoneWILD.

Since we are going with catering to the majority I would propose English as the official language since 95% of America speaks it and since 85% of Americans are Christian I also suggest 85% of all articles be written geared towards the Christian faith. And while we are at it, since 3/4 of all Americans are for off shore drilling I say we start drilling tomorrow. :)

Or is it that D.C. is special and they should be catered to but not the rest of us?
