is it just me or is this price nuts
so i was bidding on a jonas hiller cup rc for my pc, as i am an avid ducks fan, i am only missing his cup rc's for my high end rookies, so i put a high bid of something like 60 bucks on it, it books at 20low 50hi. so i was outbid i was like well i can justofy paying more at this time. now he had just shut out the sharks in game 1, this ended before game 2. but check out the final price, is that because of the patch or is it just another playoff craze like franzen's cards last year?
i mean 180 usd for a $50 card. i would just like to hear some opinions thanks and if anyone is selling a cup rc for a reasonable price of hiller please lmk http://cgi.ebay.ca/07-08-UD-THE-CUP-ROOKIE-AUTO-PATCH-JONAS-HILLER-RC-249_W0QQitemZ280333284569QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_SM_ Sports_Cards?hash=item280333284569&_trksid=p3286.c 0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1 318Last edited by patsfan84; 04-20-2009 at 11:36 AM.

It seems very high to me. I think it is from two reasons.
1). That patch is ridiculous, something like 5 colors and multiple breaks.
2). He is on a serious 2 game hot streak for the Ducks. And I do think it is playoff "buzz."

Patch Patch Patch
People are nuts for those things
I don't know If I have seen him on this site or another one but there is a guy that just collects really nice patches from the cup cards I would not doubt that he is the one that snagged it up

i am not in disagreement that it is defintely a sick patch card. i really dont mind settling for a simple 2 colour patch :P if it saves me 130 bucks, which after the dollar conversion is over 150. good for the seller though ouldnt have timed that better :) would you over pay for hiller?????? i mean i would over pay for a getz or ryan, but cant do it on hiller. would also do it for sid or ovie, but i am sure there aren't too many hiller fans out there. but i must say hiller and ryan i am sure glad i got a lot of their stuff at the beginning f the season, when it was affordable :) i got hiller's spa fw patch for just over 6 bucks on ebay, solid black patch.

Timing is everything. After Game 7 of the Montreal-Boston series last year, you basically had to give up naming rights to your first-born to grab anything Carey Price. Jonas Hiller is red-hot right now and has stymied what was considered the prohibitive favourite team in this series through two games on the road. If they knock out the Sharks, look for the trend to continue.
And remember, Beckett's not exactly up to snuff on a lot of so-called values for cards lately.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

thats very true about the beckett, and in the end a card is worth what a person will pay for it. i am sure glad i picked up his cup masterpiece 1/1 last week for 65 lol. since his stock is rising now. but as much as i have faith in hiller to go all the way, sorry grew up in toronto so sometime dream big like leaf fans, it is sj who has a pretty big hostory of choking out in the playoffs. if hiller can lead them to the finals then i would be more willing to pay premium prices for him. 14 more wins for the cup for the ducks :P
