    Fake AP - Stay Away!

Please don't bid on this. I informed the seller that the card was altered and asked him to pull the auction. Even after showing him the before pic, he insists the card is authentic since he bought it from a reputable seller.

    Auction:

    Proof:

Just a heads up in case anyone was thinking about it.

Got this message back from the seller. He tried getting a hold of the guy who sold it to him...

"The card is not a fake & was never altered. Whomever is telling you that information, is only lying to you. We checked with a member from Upper Deck before we purchased it, & they have verified to us that the item is real. No one could be that good to fix a card like that. The card is real, or we would not have purchased it.Thank you & have a nice evening. B&G SPORTS.

This was another response from ebay seller "blackgold4ever":

"We received this same link from this person, when we were purchasing the item. We found at that time, that this person was a young kid, screwing around, & could not afford the card. That is why we contacted a member from Upper Deck & asked about the authenticity of the card. They also informed that this card was a special card that was made with the same serial number, & was sold & presented specially at sportscard shows during adrians rookie year. If you want to confirm that it is real, do like we did & contact a member from Upper Deck. The card is 100% real, no one would ever be able to alter a card & stick a fake patch behind a real autograph like that one. Thank you again & have a nice evening. B&G SPORTS."

Anyone ever heard of such nonsense?

What a bad lie. I would think the buyer would at the very least have a problem with the alleged fact that the actual card isn't a legit hobby card but a trade show special edition.

This guy (assuming they are in fact two different people) should respond back with "if you don't want to have a charge of fraud filed against you, I suggest you return my money or contact an attorney."
