Blockbuster Trade in the WNBA

The Connecticut Sun and the Minnesota Lynx completed a blockbuster trade the other day, sending former UConn star Renee Montgomery to the Sun, and former Golden Gopher Lindsey Whalen to the Lynx. In addition to the player swap, the two teams swapped draft picks - Lynx sent the #1 overall pick to the Sun, and the Sun sent the #2 overall pick to the Lynx.

Lindsey Whalen was born and raised relatively close to where I live, so maybe I'll run into her at a store sometime while she's visiting her parents!

I didn't think teams in any sport would trade a #1 pick for a #2 pick along w/ other players involved in the trade. Sounds weird to me lol

Being next to Seimone Augustus, I sure wouldn't be surprised if they're able to be one of the top teams...I'd really like to see them have some success...ever since we traded away Katie Smith, we've been cellar-dwellers...and even before then, we were mostly sub-par.

Well hey, you weren't too far off! Whalen is a good player, and I'm happy that she's back where she grew up. Should generate more ticket revenue for the Lynx.
