Crosby and Ovechkin are two of the best players in the NHL. Crosby has a cup and Ovie has two mvp awards! Can someone explain to me how both their sp authentic rookie book values go down in price? Just doesn't make sense. Can anyone explain lol. Thanks!

i will guess recent sales havnt been that high because of the recession more than likely. if you got one hold on to it i am sure it will go up one day again. and if you dont now is the time to buy

that's true also because you got guys like tavares,hedman, and gustavsson etc who are the hot players to get right now. come playoff time crosby and ovechkin's prices are going to go up again. but i would buy them now.

That is very true (the other players being hot in the market right now). However i was just curious how their ultimate collection rookies did not go donw as well? Maybe because of the print run?

Do not make the mistake of comparing card value and prices with Beckett book values. The Beckett is useful as a guide and a mutual platform for those new to the hobby to complete a trade reasonably safe for each party so that no one gets ripped off.

It is true that superstar prices can fall as new rookies hit the scene and new products come out. Rookies drive the products and that is what people aspire to pull when they rip. There will always be a market for the superstar players but each time a new product appears the focus returns to the next great players in the rookies.

I'd be interested in seeing what actual sale prices have since they came out...... but my guess would be that they're dropping in price becuase demand is lower.

Cups, MVPs, whatever...... if all the people who were willing to pay top dollar for one now have one, that's going to lower sale prices.

Beckett is a better coaster for a drink then a price guide. thats what i use mine for at least. oh...... and for when i run out of toilet paper
