How do you put a value on.....

    Printing Plates?

I know a Dale Jr Printing Plate would have a greater value that a Kyle Petty Printing Plate....

But how do you decide what value to assign to the plate?

It's tough, but I usually use the average sale price of these on ebay as a starting point. Of course as with anything it's only worth what people will pay. Also have to factor in that some plates dont sell for what they used to. I collect Kahne for instance, a couple years ago they would easily bring $200, now I see some not sell with a BIN of $125. Also, depends on the demand, for instance their is a Carl Edwards Thunder Strokes Plate on ebay right now. It already higher than a normal Carl plate would sell for...why...because the person needs it for a set.
