Steve Sax - hit or miss?

Does he ever sign consistently? I have certainly seen a number of successes but I have sent to him 4 times in the past 3 years without one single return. That's a lot of cards that I have donated to him

from what i could find he is very hit or miss... on one site he is only 26% on returns.. so i guess it all comes down to luck, or sending at the right time or if he likes your letter....

i wrote a nice letter back to him in november 2008 and asked if he would sign a 1983 topps card and contribute to my quest for an autographed team set, and got the card back signed exactly 1 week later, so im one of the lucky ones who is 1/1 in attempts

I've had recent success with Sax about 4 weeks ago. The odd thing was. A short typed note was included. Asking me to contact his assistant.
He signed 1 of the 2 cards I sent him w/Green Sharpie. I have a feeling that he is looking for donations or something for his auto. Then he would sign it with a typical colored pen, Blue or Black.

Same thing actually happened to me except he signed all the cards I had sent. I was deployed to Afghanistan so my wife called the number and it was actually his cell phone. He wanted us to buy into a phone business he is starting. She talked to him about 3 or 4 times and he said he wanted me to call him when I got back. I have yet to call. This is by far the weirdest TTM experience I have had.

Old Steve sounds a little like a "head case". Anyway, he got me for more than enough postage, stationary and cards. It's not like he was a legend like Bill Mazeroski... LOL!
