Eric Staal Named Hurricanes' Captain
Eric Staal was named captain of the Carolina Hurricanes. I have to think that they have to be trying to force out Rod Brind'Amour.
Story from TSN.ca.

Considering that Brind'Amour is a -23 right now. Carolina needs to make some changes.

I was at the practice today, which was supposed to start at 11. The team was late coming out on the ice and everyone around was wondering why, and soon the news started filtering around, it was kinda surreal, the delay was the closed door meeting and roddy wasn't the captain when he came out onto the ice, unbelieveable.
I went over to ask John Forslund (the canes television announcer) what he thought about the situation, and apparently he had no idea. I found out about this before he did, and broke the news to him. that shocked the heck out of me. this has been really kept under wraps from the inside out.
Im a caniac, I will support the new captain, but he better start playing like a captain and earning that C on his chest, im tired of watching him stand there like a cardboard cutout, maybe this will push him. Rod isnt playing well thats true, but he will always be THE captain. You've got quite a lot of work to do to live up to his captaincy Staalsy. I'll be the first to buy seats when they retire Rod's Jersey, thanks for the memories.

Who has Brind'Amour been playing with this season? That could help explain the -23.
