NICE! Always loved shremp, used to watch him play here in London, during his 140 point OHL season. I still cant believe how little ice time schremp has gotten since he was called up. Hes got speed, a great shot, and unbelievable puck control. I think the Islanders are finally realizing how valuable he is. Finally!

I wanna see the goal. He has some great hands.
Honestly Schremp really is not that good. He certainly doesn't have speed, his shot is okay, but he does have unbelievable puck control. He really just needs to put it all together. This has been his best year but I don't think he will be more than a guy who shines in the shootout and no place else

Im not saying hes a Lafleur or Cornoyer from back in the day, but he has decent speed and decent shot. I think he just needs more playing time to fine tune his skills.

Naw.... I'm going with cns on this one.
Schremp wasn't even a great AHLer last year. Springfield was a really bad team.... but if Robbie is going to be a 'star' player in the NHL, he should be able to rip up the minor leagues; on a weak team or not.
He may have what is some of the best eye-hand coordination in the world (how many players could have scored on that "baseball swing" type goal a couple of weeks ago?). His puck handling ability is unbelievable.
But the rest of his game, is why he doesn't get much ice time. He was given multiple opportunity's in Edmonton to make the big club, and couldn't. Even the Islanders, who were a last place team last season..... don't have room to make him a regular, that eats up a lot of minutes.
I would expect that he'll get the opportunity to grow into an NHL regular with the Islanders. A powerplay / shootout specialist, with some 5-on-5 time. I would even expect him to be decent at it.
When he has his first 25 goal season, consider me shocked.

Still, the minors show what potential a player has. In one season for the Knights (which i believe was the year they won the Memorial cup) he had 140 points. Thats over 1.5 points per game. I believe those numbers speak for themselves, it really shows what kind of potential he has. Like Gretzky ( and no im not comparing him to The Great One) He wasnt the fastest, the wasnt the biggest, but he had a senseof where the puck was going, and a great pair of hands. I believe that Schremp has the potential for those 2 qualities (but we already know about his stick handling). Dont believe me? Watch this ridiculousness:

Juniors mean squat. AHL means a bit more but still means squat. The NHL is leaps and bounds above both leagues. I agree robbie has some of the best hands in hockey but he is not a complete hockey player - heck he isn't even a complete offensive player. He lacks the hockey sense to make him great. He's going to be a guy that is used for shootous and PP and not much else.
And yet again, I'm in 100% agreement with 30ranfordfans post

Im still wondering to the fact juniors mean squat? So your saying that NHL scouts pick players that score no goals, or assists? I have a hard time believing that. Im sure your opinion would be diferent if he played for the Kings. He hasnt been given the oppourtunity to become complete on offense, but lately hes been holding is own, im not saying hes Crosby or Ovechkin, but he has 16 points this season in 30 games, not bad for a half time NHL player.

I'm saying junior stats don't correlate to NHL success. You could put up 200 points in juniors and then come to the NHL and not get 20 points. My point is that the NHL is at a way higher level than juniors. Some people just can't make that jump. And I don't get why you'd think my opinion would change if he was a King. If he were on the Kings, I'd complain about him just as much as I do about Froloaf, Brown, Jones, O'Donnel, and Quick at times. I'm not a fan who loves every player on my team. I see players skill and go off that, not the jersey they wear
