    In my Math class....

In my math class this year I got a C+. I'm not too happy with it.

A friend of mine ended up getting an A-. Great job.

Well, since I'm not too happy with my grade, can I take a littl bit from my friend's grade to make up for mine?

Just petition your school to do away with letter grades altogther...obviously it has hurt your self-esteem and we wouldn't want you to get your feelings hurt. Everyone is special. Now let's have a group hug!

an C+? That's still above average. You'll probably have that plus taken and given to someone that has a D-.

No, but you can pack the local school board with people who will campaign the federal government to recognize that a C+ is just as likely to be a sign of mastery as an A-. And if they say no, whine about being persecuted at your local church, wait 18 months, and then do the same thing all over again using more vague terminology.
