hard to fake chromes as the patent for the technology is not issued to whoever wishes to use it.

but yeah kobe chromes go for 150-250 and could go higher depending on the grading.

Grading does increase or decrease the value based on how "mint" the card is.
Mint means straight edges, sharp corners, and perfect centering.
its hard to find chromes like that.
i still have whats left of a case i broke back in 1998 and i was lucky to get 3-4 kobe chromes in one case but not one is a perfect mint 10, the best graded one was a 9.

lebron chromes don't go that much, actually not many chrome rc's go for much because in 1996, kobe's rc year was the first year for chrome so it has some added value.

if you really want this card for your friend, i guess the most affordable option is to win a lebron on ebay and if you are lucky and have the cash to spend, get one off kobe too but be careful of overpaying. I had one chrome kobe FS for 100 USD here a few weeks ago bc it was graded 7 but decided against it and have traded the others.

again a diamon if the cuttin is not good and the depth of the vixor is not high, the value may not be as high as a true diamon with perfect cut. Swarovski diamonds/crystals are usually those that are considered cheap crap but ones you find at a high end jewlrer are the more valuable ones because they are HTG....thats besides the point.

anyways, good luck, i wouldnt suggest buying a box as it can be expensive and you may not get one card that you want.

try ebay and its hmm....auctions, but also note not to overpay for something that you are not comfortable with. analyze the picture very clearly, because you dont want to be one of those that shells out 300 bucks for a graded 8 worthy kobe..

03-04 only goes for 250-300
