    Why Heroes & Prospects?

I have never opened any Heroes & Prospects, but it seems like its a very popular set that has alot of interest. This has got me thinking it would be fun to break a box, especially since its very affordable. Just curious what everyone like about this product. Also, wondering how you know the players aside from the top prospects that we all hear about? I know the Hall's, Fowlers, etc, but admittedly dont know alot of the other names?

    Just curious

redlight - theres loads of hits in H&P and u can never go wrong, example, TysonX just put up a thread about his player that he collects, Jared Cowan, and there are 17 1/1s of him in the set, along with many more #'d /3 and /6, and thats just 1 player, so the set is loaded with nice stuff

check the box break section aLSO at hederman's break from today, he pulled a Brandon Sutter Complete CHL Logo (these are sort of equivalent to Upper Deck Shield Cards)

    Hope this helps a bit

So for a box that you can get in the 75-90 dollar range dependant on where you are, it yields "4 hits per box" when really it's 5 hits. It's a great product at a great price, especially if you are like me and follow the prospects closely all year before the draft

Thanks for the info. I think I'll get a box tonight....my LCS actually has them for $68 which seems like a great price, and it will be fun to get better ideas about this years draft picks

With all due respect to the American collectors out there, the OP's question: "wondering how you know the players aside from the top prospects that we all hear about?" goes to the core of hockey: it's a Canadian game. A lot of us folks up here do know a lot of the players, whether it's from watching them in our hometown CHL cities or from the various under-18 and under-20 tournaments. I freely admit that of course I don't know everybody that's featured in the set, but within the first few hours of the product being live I snapped up all 3 autos of the Kelowna Rockets in the set, including projected top 5 pick in 2011 Shane McColgan. It's also a way to be introduced to the stars of tomorrow - sure not all of these kids are going to be in the NHL some day but it does give you an early opportunity to start a player collection prior to them getting their official rookie cards from Upper Deck. I can only imagine how superlative my Carey Price collection would be if I were still in the hobby back in 2005 when the Habs drafted him and had two years of H&P/BTP to collect at the time.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

hey, a lot of us yankees watched the World Juniors this year... this was really the first year I've followed the tourney and I've been a hockey fan for almost 20 years

i opened 3 boxes at $90 each so $68 is a deal, I'd buy every box u can

all of my hits are up on ebay so lets see what ROI this product delivers

That's a completely arrogant statement. There are all levels of interest all around the world, just b/c you're Canadian doesn't mean you know more about hockey than anyone else. Completely stupid.
