Cincinnati Reds Winter Caravan stop Athens,OH 1/29/10

After my classes on Friday, I was able to head up to Athens,OH for the Cincinnati Reds Winter caravan Stop on the Northern Tour. Still exhausted from the big mess the stop in Huntington,WV brought last night, I had my doubts going into this event. I decided to give it a try anyways as they had a Baseball HOF member on it that I needed for my HOF collection.

To make a long story short, there was another good turnout for this event. Only difference was that the line was not as long, and when it was all said and done, I was able to get through the line twice. Only thing that stayed the same from the Huntington theme was the "One Per" policy. I did overhear one of the Reds people say to another person that was on the Parkersburg,WV-Marietta,OH stop last night of this particular tour that he mentioned Marty Brennaman announced the strict "One Per" policy there. Marty did the same thing here but since I saw the line was not as crazy as the Huntington stop back on Thursday night, I decided to stick it out with this event until the end. When it was all said and done, it turned out to be the best choice. Here are the results:

(BEFORE I POST MY RESULTS ON A SIDENOTE: I wish the Detroit Tigers would take notes on how the Cincinnati Reds conduct winter caravans.)

Cincinnati Reds Winter Caravan stop Athens,OH 1/29/10

    Reds

Glenn Braggs 4/8, 0/8, 0/3 (Only got 1/8 done 1st time through the line. 2nd time through the line, he did one more. When he got up to leave at the end, he only hit 2/6 for me. jbsouth: since I see that he signed 3 cards you intended for me to keep, I will send back one of the cards he signed for me for you to keep.) (Surprisingly this was the only disappointment of the night but I was lucky to get multiples at all to begin with at this stop. Not complaning at all..)
Zack Cozart 6/6, 4/4 (1 for jbsouth, 3 for jbare24, 1 for FJMBoston) (1st time through the line, he only signed 1/6 for me. 2nd time through the line, I got 1/5. I got the rest done when he was getting ready to leave.)
Bob Miller 1/1 White Blank Filler card
Brandon Phillips 1/3, 1/2, *pic with!!!*
    Chris Welsh 3/5, 2/2 (2 for FJMBoston)
Marty Brennaman 1/1 SS OMLB, 1/1 SS OMLB, *pic with!!!* (Had to go through the line again to get the 2nd OMLB done. He added the HOF 2000 inscription to both of the baseballs without me asking. This is the 3rd baseball HOF member that I have met in the past 3 years.)

That is all I have to share here result wise from this event.

I am obviously very happy with the outcome from this event for a change lol. I had to wait until the very very end to try for pics with Phillips, and Brennaman. Phillips remembered and waved for me to come over for a quick pic before he had to do an interview for a local tv station in the area. Brennaman remembered to and actually thanked me for staying the entire time and for coming out to this event.

Otherwise that is all I have to share here for today. Thanks alot for looking!!!

Next up for me: Unknown at this time...
