    Graded cards

    On graded cards from the 70s what is the differnce between a 8,9,and 9.5. The only time i can tell is if the card is oc.

    At the higher end of grades - pay attention to the printing errors on the card not just wear issues. Registation (a good rosesa pattern is sometimes harder that you mite think), smashed dots, hickeys, water marks, thin ink, off-center cut. On both front and back (most people don't concered the back enough). Read up on a really good book about printing, it really is great info to know. It also helps alot to spot fakes much, much more.

    Here is an example of one from my album on SCF - It would have been higher but for (3 hickeys or print dots marks) on the front that you need a 7X loop to see, they really show up if there on a spot color. And much harder to see in CMYK, yellow being the hardest.

    But I still like the card in any grade.
