2009 Wheels Main Event Sunglasses Question

Hey everyone. So i was looking at press pass's site the other day. And was looking at the 2009 Wheels Main Event section and saw this:

• Authentic driver-worn sunglasses have been inserted into select value boxes and gravity feeds as a “thank you” to our loyal customers. These unique driver-worn items can be found at select retail stores inside the value boxes with the packs or loose in the gravity feed boxes.

I was just wondering. Did anyone ever see these things at all? I never saw anything like them pulled. Just curious I guess

Also what is considered the value boxes? Is that pretty much a Blaster Box?

Yea, the blasters. Apparently there was at least one pair found, as it showed up on PP's facebook site. I think they put the glasses on their dog for one of their contests.

Oh ok. Just checking. Its tempting to buy a $20 box and get $100+ sunglasses but from what you said and the lack of seeing them, I won't take the risk. I think its a cool idea, just never saw any of them pulled.

Kinda seemed like a big marketing ploy to get more people to buy the blasters, since that's the only pair (to my knowledge) that's been pulled....add in the fact that PP won't release a 'checklist' of the sunglasses, and it makes it seem real fishy.

It was a member over on NUTS that pulled them if my memory serves me. But then again with this old brain.......

Yea Jeremy thats what I kinda thought, maybe then wanted to go through with it and never did or released a very small amount of them. I may have to look deeper into it. Kinda something I'd like to see more of but who knows, not everything is chalked up to how it sounds. They checklist would be very helpful, but it does seem a little shady that they didn't release them or the amount of sunglasses that the put in.

A while ago I am pretty sure I saw a pair of sunglasses of Dale Jr. on ebay. They had the cert of authenticity as well. Not sure if this was the same person that you are talking about.
