Khendra sorry it took me this long to respond, you are an exceptionally bright person and you just haven't found your niche yet.TWENTY FIVE IS NOT OLD AT ALL,if I told you how many jobs I had from getting out of high school till I was 25 you would laugh at me at least 10 maybe more.I still curse out my stepfather for talking me out of going to broadcasting school right out of high school as that was something I think I would have enjoyed.Right now I'm an e.m.t and still don't feel I'm in the right job but it pays the bills and I have gotten to like it after 8 plus years.Keep your chin up and either go the teaching route which I think would be great for you,or just keep looking for something that suits your needs as well as your future employer,if it seems like a job your just taking to have a job don't do it.You will know better than any of us when the right job and situation come, hopefully very soon.Best of everything and if you ever need to talk pm me I'm all ears, take care Steve

Steve, I appreciate the kind comments. I really thought this paralegal thing was going to work out, but it just wasn't as writing-intensive as I was expecting. I agree that taking a job just to have one isn't the best approach. I've had many people say that we have to take what we can get in this economy, but if we end up in a profession for which we aren't suited, then I think that's actually worse for us in the long run.
I learned yesterday that the English program I was at back in my undergraduate years is now changing, so there could be some good new opportunities there next semester, including teaching. I'll definitely look into that once the time comes. In the meantime, the focus is just to not let my sensitivities overwhelm everything else and remember this isn't life-ending or even reputation-ending. :)
