I've been burnt quite a few times unfortunately. What's worse is that sometimes new traders try taking advantage of my MSF status and scamming me. I've been to recognie most of those situations, but still, i've been completely burned twice from that.
I'd still say that the majority of SCF traders are good and honest. Probably only 5-10% of SCF members are worth avoiding.
To those that said they were burnt by msf traders....exactly how? Since you didn't have to send first, you lost nothing at all.

So far I've had really good luck on here. If you plan on any big trades you might try the escrow thing (do they still offer it??) to build your comfort level back up and put your mind at ease a bit. Sorry you got hosed early and often man. Hope things work themselves out for ya bud.

I've had plenty of trades go into dispute, but usually either things I didn't have to send first (usually 0-5 feedback guys) so I didn't lose out except missing a trade I wanted. Only twice have I been truly burnt- both times for some nice autos. Those guys got banned, but I never got my stuff.
I have resorted to some extreme measures to get my end of the deal though. Sometimes months later. It's amazing what information you can find on the internet, and I've made some phone calls. I've even talked to moms and dads explaining what happened, and received their sons end of the deal within the week :-) I swear I was nothing but congenial and accomodating in any conversations though, never threatening.

My goodness, wish i thought of this!! Always wondered about what parents think about their kids dealing on the internet.
Your cash is already out by the way, you don't have to worry about calling my parents :)

I can understand your frustration, I was ripped off here once, it was several years ago though. Probably lost between $50-$100 bucks worth of stuff. It was a while back so I don't remember exactly. Regardless, I would hope you wouldn't let 3 bad experiences ruin this site for you. There are infinately more outstanding traders here than there are bad ones. I will admit your luck hasn't been the best so far though. If one of the guys had 900 feedback then I would think something must have happened to prevent this member from contacting you.

To the OP, I'm sorry to hear that.
I noticed you haven't left any neutral.negative feedback?
I would hope you don't leave, but if you did..these members could return and resume trading and there would be no record on their FB. SCF is merely a platform for us to locate cards, chat and conduct trades. The only way SCF can become even safer than it is, is if we use everything they have put in place...
From negotiating the trade, how is their communication to checking their rep, saving PM, emails and contacting the dispute team, even the other trader if in the small chance something does go wrong, to finally leaving appropriate FB(retal. FB can & will be removed) one "mistake" late send doesn't look bad, but 2-3+ starts to show a pattern, we can't notice the pattern unless all things are documented.
PS: To answer your question, I'd say NO, the 3 bad deals, traders you've encountered, is not indicative of what you'd encounter from the core user base going forward.

I've been on this site for a while now and I have to say it's one of the better trading sites online. There's always going to be those out there that are going to try to screw people on trades no matter what and unfortunatley it make it harder for traders who are honest and have a good reputation to get deals done.

Luckily in 5 years and in about 75 trades only once have I been nearly cheated, and the other trader had to send first so I didn't lose out. I, having one blemish on my trader rating (which I made amends for, just ask JammingJames23) understand that stuff happens, but some people aren't in any way going to fix their mistake.

Did the MOD working the disputes provide you with Canadian postal and internet fraud links so you could file charges?
