Don't think it would be dried up. If i were looking at buying some I would want to know if the redemption's are still being honored. Had heard that they had extended it but not sure until when.

I've crack quite a few boxes of the cup 05/06 and pulled a few pretty decent cards.
3 boxes are going to cost you between $1500 and $1800, thats alot of money and a big gamble,I think with that kind of money in this economy, you could get a few very high end 05/06 cup singles off e-bay
    just my opinion

whatever you decide to do good luck

One can always argue for any wax, that your money is better spent purchasing single cards rather than cracking boxes, to get "the sure thing". That ignores the thrill of opening and the potential for "the big pull". So as always, it's up to you and your wallet. Having said that, there were several redemptions in that product and I suspect none of them will be redeemed now, with one potential exception: Whitney cards are supposedly still redeemable...IF they ever get produced and I've been waiting four years to find out. They did redeem the Kostitsyn cards over a year ago, once they finally got them signed. I still think it's a great product with a super rookie crop and none of the big rookies were redemptions.

thats my point too! busting open wax is my favorite thing! but i guess i need to find out if those redemptions are still availible. im also interested in the later years 07 - 09. does any one know about those sets.

07/08 has proabably one of the best crops of rookies, minus the exception of 05/06 and the redemptions would stil be good until next year i believe, as i am still redeeming 07/08 artifacts cards. great rookie crop that broke out good last year.

I would stay away from 05-06 personally... if you want a high end bust like Cup, try what patsfan mentions... 07-08, or even 08-09 (fairly loaded last year... likely due to the weaker rookie crop).

yeah, i'd lose it if i bought a 05 06 cup for 600$ and the big hit was a non-redeemable redemption, definetly check that out before you do anything
