Question for serious Jordan collectors
Well I have a question for some of the hardcore Jordan Collectors here. I am going to be in the market soon for a Jordan Fleer rookie. Now here is my question. I have been keeping a watchful eye on the bay lately to give myself a ballpark idean of what I amlooking at spending. I have noticed a lot of the reprints popping up that are in no way shape or form marked as a reprint. I am starting to get a bit nervous of the possibility of getting duped by a less than honest seller trying to pass off one of the reprints as an original. So is there any dead giveaway that I can look for on these unmarked reprints??? I have looked at a few pics of these front and back and compared them to pictures of graded BGS jordan rookies and I can"t find a differance, but I am not an expert on these by any means. So I'm really hoping that someone here can give me some insight on this. Thanks in advance and any info will be appreciated......*Ryan*

Graded one is safer, no? If you don't need grade 10 Gem Mint, maybe get a PSA 7 or 6 without off center. Without the graded case, they look good too.

I'll be picking one up soon, I'm going graded. It's your safest bet!

I may end up having to go that route. I personally would rather have a raw card but may have to go with a graded just to be on the safe side rather than sorry......*Ryan*

Definitely get a graded one and demand to see a scan of the back too. And when you finally get it, examine the case very carefully. If you can see any scratching on the edges or it comes apart easily, then it was probably tampered with, the real card removed and a fake put in its place. Also there were a bunch of official reprints made by Topps in 1996 that say "Reprint X of 50" on the back in small letters. You might have somebody give you one of those claiming it's the real rookie card, and then when you tell them it's not, they play the "Buh-buh-but I didn't know!" routine. Yeah, I call BS on that. Somebody actually did that to me with a Clyde Drexler Star XRC once. There's also at least one guide on eBay for how to recognize a counterfeit Jordan RC. Or you could just get a beat-up one like I did a long time ago. The odds are much smaller that a Jordan RC in poor condition would be counterfeit than one in great condition.
