One in today: Bill "Gabe" Gabler in 6 days via his home. He returned 3/4 customs, kept 1 as offered. Mr. Gabler's major league career consists of three pinch hit appearances in 1958 for the Cubs... but I'm glad to have the sig!

Quite possibly one of the coolest returns I've received... just for the backstory and comments in the letter.
Taylor Phillips returned 3/4 customs today, keeping one as offered in 9 days. I had sent a set to Mr. Phillips a month or so ago, but I made an error on the card, identifying him as a outfielder instead of a pitcher. He sent them back and requested that I correct the error and resend them to him again. I received the second set back today with the response below on my LOR. I'm humbled. I'll definitely be sending the cards.

Wow, that's an incredible return! The fact that he loves them that much is just really cool to me...congrats. Just out of curiousity, what would you charge him for 25?

That's neat. I one time had a former OSU Basketball player ask me for 5 cards- 1 for each of his kids....he too asked me for corrections....nothing more than showing all of his OSU stats from his three seasons instead of just his senior season which I had done. I sent them to him for free, but I'm not suggesting that is what you should do....for me, I use the Xyron sticker maker and make all my cards 2-sided. My customs are expensive in terms of the paper I use, the sticker material, the cardstock I use (which is Topps Heritage cards) and the printer ink. However, I was so flattered as well that I refused payment. GOod work. I enjoy your thread.

I will not charge him, but may request a few more copies signed.
I have had a couple others request from me, I am always willing to oblige for the athlete.
What I will probably do is ask for a few other sigs, but I may leave what he wants to send back up to him.

Thank you for the kind words. I only send 1 sided cards, so they aren't uber expensive.
I am just truly humbled he likes them that much, because I'm just a hack compared to some on here.m

Two more in today:
Alex Grammas: Returned 3/4, kept 1 as offered. Took about 12 days.
Ed Mayer: Played two seasons with the Cubs, returned 3/4 customs, kept one as offered, but also sent 3 copies of a Topps Heritage card and a pretty nice letter. Another cool return from the old Cubs.

Yea, really cool letter. I've been blessed lately to get some tremendous letters back. Bob Will, Jim Fanning, Taylor Phillips, & now Ed Mayer have all written great letters in the last couple months to me.

Always great to have them write anything back. Shows they really read and appreciate the letters.
