Iran marks anniversary, confirms nuclear breakthrough

Flag-waving and cheering supporters in Azadi Square heard Ahmadinejad say Iran has produced its first batch of 20 percent-enriched uranium and will soon triple production. Uranium enriched to 20 percent can set off a nuclear reaction, scientists say, and the president said the country is capable of enriching uranium up to 80 percent, but won't.

Greeeeaaat. They say it is for peaceful use, yet they make the announcement on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution after having announced they will "strike a blow" to global powers, specifically the West...not good. I'm interested to hear Mr. Obama's response.

And I really hope this was all they were talking about when they said they would "strike a blow" today.

I say let Israel have at them, maybe launch some strategic missile strikes from the Persian Gulf, but let Israel do all the heavy lifting. I have full confidence in the Israeli military, they would most likely be more effective than we would, and we're spread far too thin in Iraq and Afghanistan as it is, don't need another war.
