Spider-Man reboot will be 3D
Next 'Spider-Man' movie coming in 3-D
Spider-Man’s webs will be coming right at you. Sony Pictures announced today that the next iteration of Spider-Man will be heading to theaters in 3-D on July 3, 2012. The move isn’t a surprising one considering how every big tentpole movie seems to be programmed with the third dimension in mind. And with a 2012 date on the books, there should be enough 3-D screens to support what’s sure to be a giant run for Sony’s most important franchise. 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb is set to direct the film based on James Vanderbilt’s script. Now all we need to know is who’s gonna play Spidey.
After Avatar, I think they'll be able to make this look amazing...but seeing how the visuals took away from the Avatar story, I'm worried. Not to mention the writer's resume consists of Zodiac, The Rundown, Basic, and Darkness Falls and the director's resume consists of (500) Days of Summer, 1 episode of The Office, Jesse McCartney: Up Close, Seascape, and music videos for 3 Doors Down and Green Day....does not inspire confidence.

wow, the director's resume certainly doesn't look good for a comic book movie huh? Well hey, Peter Jackson did some pretty cheesy horror movies before he did Lord of the Rings so maybe there's a chance it will be good. I didn't see Avatar in 3d yet, but it does sound like 3D spidey would be cool.

I'm not really concerned about the director's background, because whether the film is going to be good or not depends on the script. Spiderman 2 and Spiderman 3 were directed by Sam Rami, but there was a huge contrast in the script. If you have a poor story, not even Spielberg can rescue it. Same idea with having the movie in 3D, it's all about the story. Also, I'm looking forward to see who is casted as Peter Parker.
