tracy mcgrady to NY?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3...ent-and-future
looks like tmac could go to the big apple, harington to WAS & hughes,curry/jeffries to the rockets. i hope tmac leaves houston, as these last few months, the rockets sorta disrepected him. and would tmac going to NY prevent lebron from going there next season, or just encourage him to make NY a multi-superstar team? what are your thoughts?

T-Mac's a free agent at the end of the year, so it won't have any impact on LeBron's decision. It would simply give the Knicks even more money off their books for next year.

I would be surprised. All the talk up to this point has been of the Knicks saving up for (looking forward to) the summer of 2010.
I don't see this happening unless they manage to unload a couple big contracts in return. If a team traded for McGrady I don't think they (even the Knicks) would be able to afford to bring Lebron in as well but you never know. I did not know that T-Mac is going to be a free agent next season, as someone pointed out.
The Knicks could just release him but it seems like a lot of trouble to trade for a one year rent-a-player when they have no chance of really doing anything in the playoffs.
Even if they did resign him to a new contract I don't know how much of a pay cut he would be willing to take (might not have a choice) from his currently huge, unmanageable contract.
While the salary cap can be broken if owners are willing to pay a luxury tax the league wants to clamp down on that and owners (most say they are losing money) want to cut team payrolls from present levels.
We still don't really know how well McGrady has recovered from his latest injury and the Rockets are apparently unwilling to let other teams monitor his workouts in the gym with his trainer(Tim Grover - Attack Athletics). I don't think it would make much of a difference (if any) to Lebron. If it were a healthy contemporary superstar in their prime, who Lebron is friendly with, like Wade or Bosh that would be a different story.Last edited by wrafman; 02-11-2010 at 08:57 PM.

wrafman....T-Mac's contract expires at the end of the year...it won't have any impact on what they try and do with the big guns in 2010.

I have no issues with someone disrespecting T-Mac. The bum left Orlando and said he was no longer play hard over there, was an ugly exit. He's a bum. He shoulda took Howard's advice and hung around a couple seasons

i would deff rather have harrington/hughes/jeffries/curry than washed up tmac, unless they are doing this to clear cap

Yes - I was a little tired - just read that and edited my post before reading yours.
When he was with Toronto some people did not like the way he left. He did not say whether or not he wanted to come back to Toronto. I don't blame him for that, like some people did but then the next year with the Magic when he came to Toronto he held out is Magic jersey posing for the fans and the cameras. That is why some people called him T-Jerk. At least it was better than how V. Carter left - dogging it in an effort (or lack of) to get traded (one game he got only 4 points). As a result the Raptors could not get as much for him and made a bad trade with the Nets, instead of waiting for a better deal. Of course when he went to the Nets he started playing like his former All-Star self.Last edited by wrafman; 02-11-2010 at 09:21 PM.
