It hit me!!
Upon completion of the 2010 NBA Dunk Contest, Brandon stares at his TV with utter disapointment. He chuckles as he remembers all of Charles Barkley's jokes, but then IT STRIKES HIM! The magical, revolutionary idea hits him like he was a dear standing in front a redneck truck. In 2011 the NBA should have a layup contest, because for heaven's sake anything would be better than that elephant's butt looking crap on the night of 2/13/10.

I just saw highlights on NBA.com
While there have been many better ones I don't think it was too bad(granted I did not catch all of it). I liked DeRozan's dunks and Nate's finale. It is hard because thedunk contest has been held for so many years that almost every dunk has been done before.

have to check out the highlights - did not see the H-O-R-S-E contest. Like I said I only saw a few clips of the dunk contest (mostly the top dunks too) and from what I saw it did not seem great but not so terrible either.

I don't even watch the dunk contests anymore, and I'm losing interest in the All-Star game. It has turned into an exhibit of flashy offense while the 5 players on defense stand around like scarecrows. Then the camera cuts away to some injured or retired superstar to get their reaction. Been there, have the t-shirt.
The only part of all-star weekend that interests me now is the 3-point contest.

I know what you mean. I feel almost the same way, especially about the all-star game. They need to give the players some more incentive to play a little harder. The last time all-star games were really interesting or competitive was the mid 90's, I think. The little love-fest is nice for a little while but it gets old quickly.

No problem - I understand. Dominique Wilkens made a good point about the top players not participating and how that would have made it more compelling. Imagine if Bosh, Wade and Lebron were in it. Maybe they are afraid of looking bad or getting hurt.
Being a Raptors fan, of course, it was good to see him and he did alright. He has phenonemonal athleticism(which the Raptors were lacking), similiar in size and athletic ability to a young Vince Carter.
At least the last couple years ago we had the D. Howard Superman dunk (before that the sticker dunk) and the Nate Kyrptonite dunk in their respective costumes. This year seemed to lack a lot of the planning, effort and creativity of previous years.Last edited by wrafman; 02-14-2010 at 05:12 PM.

I thought it was okay. Kinda weird how they ended it with 3s... and I think Rondo had a realllll good chance of winning it if they didn't do the "3 point competition."
