    Quick Fleer Ultra Question

My local card store is running a 40% off packs special on older packs. I'm thinking of getting some old Ultra packs but I remembered that Ultra does redemptions for their premier RCs.

If I were to buy 05-06 packs would I have a chance of getting the Crosby/Ovechkin? Were these guys inserted into packs or redemptions? If they were redemptions would they still be available (I'm thinking not) How about the 06-07 Malkin and the 07-08 Kane/Toews/Price?

Thinking about taking a shot at some packs but I need to be better informed.

those redemtions already expired so im not sure UD would honnor them anymore (all three years you mentioned) and i think that the 07-08's were redemtion packs and you got a 3 player pack of random players

all the rookies including the SP(crosby, ov..etc) were live in 06 Ultra, but not in any year since. i dont know if they still honor the redemptions from 07 and on though

bostonfan- that is mvp, not ultra that had the 3 card redemption packs. these are individual numbers in the set numbered on the back.

Ultra does SP and SSP RCs.
05-06 All of them were live. I think it was 3 or 4 SP and one SSP RC per hobby box.
06-07 the SP were lives, the SSPs were redemptions and they should have expired in September of 2009 and generally UD will not redeem them.
07-08 the SP were lives, and the SSPs were redemptions and they expire in September of 2010.

The 07-08 had a decent crop, and the 05-06 for the right price could net any one of a decent player, Phaneuf, Lundqvist and of course a Crosby or Ovechkin.

    Good luck

yeah id shoot for the 05-06, even though i bought a box last year and the big RC in it was Al Montoya Gold Medallion

but a nice pull on a ovy or crosby would be worth it, let alone a gold or ice medallion!

and then of course the auto'd gu parallels, etc, there are a nice crop of cards that could be found in those boxes

You are bang on except that the ultra 05-06 had 6 rookies then the one sp rookie per box.
