Buying from overseas question
There's a seller from Australia that has a few cards I need, but I'm worried about bidding b/c of the conversion of price. Have you guys ever done this? Is it safe? Do you just put in your top bid in American dollars and it converts it to their currency so you don't go over what you want to bid? Thanks for any advice

Ebay automaticaly converts the currency. For example when i buy from the US i chose to see the prices in Euros and then paypal uses the same convertion rates.

If you have any questions about Australian sellers, use ozcardtrader.com.au to ask around. Most Aussie collectors are on there!

Thanks guys. Sounds simple enough I guess I shouldn't be worried.

Is the auction in Australian dollars? What kind of dollar amount roughly are we talking about? Check the exchange rate that ebay gives and the official exchange rate (you can use yahoo or google's currency converter). Would you be paying from funds from your paypal account or paypal through VISA or credit card? Credit card companies charge a commission.
I am pretty sure paypal also usually takes a few percent (as commission for changing dollars since they are a company) off the official exchange rate. In other words their exchange rate is a bit worse than the official one.
What is the shipping rate?

Yeah, it was in Australian currency and it would be paying w/Paypal through a credit card. I didn't know they can charge extra fees for that. Thanks for the advice
