    Roger Dean (2/24/10)

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood today in Jupiter. Got the following from the Marlins:

Fredi Gonzalez - ROMLB on SS to finish Team ball with 26 sigs)
Andre Dawson - ROMLB on SS (would not add HOF yet)
Tony Perez - ROMLB on SS with HOF2000
Hanley Ramirez - ROMLB on SS (the NL Batting Champ finally signed today on the practice field)
Jorge Cantu - ROMLB on SS (asked him to personalize in Spanish - To my friend)
Cody Ross - ROMLB on SS
Wes Helms - CROLB on SS
John Baker - CROLB on SS
Brett Carol - CROLB on SS
Emilio Bonifacio - CROLB on SS
Leo Nunez - CROLB on SS
Logan Morrison - CROLB on SS
Mike Stanton - CROLB on SS
Andrew Miller - CROLB on SS
Sean West - CROLB on SS with request of date on 1st win vs. Randy Johnson

Yes, I brought a large canvas bag today!

I'll let the scans below speak for themselves of who I got from the Cardinals:

He's the Mgr. of the Cardinals minor league team that plays at Roger Dean. He is a very nice guy that most people going there don't really know. Pitched the perfect game against the Dodgers in 1991.

One of Rawlings cheaper balls. However, it has a leather cover with a solid cork/rubber center. CROLB is $3 vs. ROMLB is $16.

Google then did my own background stuff. Usually, when they see a background or custom stuff like I put on the pictures, they know I'm not a reseller and will put whatever I ask after their sigs. Notice I had McGwire put his ROY 87 on his pic. The difference between the Cards & Marlins (kind of funny) is that some of the less known Marlins had not seen some of the pictures I had of them & they asked me to bring them copies (which I always try to do for them).

On choosing balls for for auto's... Here is a couple of pics comparing CROLB vs ROMLB vs Rawlings Spec balls

    http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

The ink tends to have strong fading on the CROLB, if you can use the Rawlings Spec balls or ROMLB, the ink will hold better with time...

lizard-jd... If you want a couple (at face value $5) lmk ...I'm heading to RDS today (2/27) so just drop me a PM and we can meet up

That is a very nice comparison. Did you use the same type pen across all three balls to make sure of the consistency and that was not the variation? I have some CROLBs (or similar) that are a year old that still look like the day it was signed. I just make sure the ball has a true leather cover before I buy it. I call the CROLB, "Cheap" Rawlings Official League Ball...
