What changes would you do to your Olympic team?
So we are in quarter finals right now, I guess everybody is watching the Canada / Russia game, but before it starts, I just wanted to do a little thread.
What changes would you do to your Olympic team? It can be players, coaches, everything.
Here are mine, for Canada of course!
I would take Lecavalier for Morrow. Morrow is a good player, scored a nice goal today, but I think Lecavalier would have done a better job then him.
Jay Bo for Chris Pronger. I never really liked Chris Pronger, and he's not playing like an olympian IMO. Bouwmeester would have been able to do a better offensive job.
And that's about it for me, I think the rest of the team is very good. Doughty is doing such a crazy job, I never tought he was that good (I can't really see LA games). Exact same thing for Toews, seriously, I don't know how can you don't like him! He's playing GREAT!
Thanks guys .. and let's get back to the game!

I'd put me on the team. I'd score, like, a billion goals a game.

Tavares is overrated garbage. I dislike him and stamkos strongly
Smyth would be in over Morrow for me.
And its pretty sad that people just now are realizing how scary good Doughty is. Stupid west coast

Although his stats aren't great this year, I am truly mind boggled as to how Lecavalier didn't make the Canadian team.
As for team U.S.A., I would've loved to see T.J. Oshie on the team, he could have Pavelski's spot. I would've also liked to see Mike Modano on the team over Langenbrunner.

1st I wouldn't of had Pronger on the team in the beginning, I would of had Mike Green.
2nd No Brendan Morrow, but Ryan Smyth. Grit and the ability to take punishment in front of the net. I say this knowing full well that Morrow just had his best game so far, still I think with Smyth, he would of been better sooner rather than later.
Lastly, Patrice Bergeron; Gone. Don't get me wrong I like Bergeron's game in the NHL I just don't believe it belongs on the world stage. In his place Shane Doan, all the way. Well maybe Cleary if he was playing like he did during the Playoffs last year.
(Please note even thought I can't stand him, I leave Heatley on the team. The team is still better with him than without him)

No. I have to completely disagree with this. Green is TERRIBLE defensively. I wouldn't have minded Regehr over Pronger though but I don't really care either way. I don't see Green making an Olympic team unless its as a forward
I think most people know what I think of Heatley. Not going to say anything else about him though...

I would of used him as the number 7 d-man and used him for special teams.
Pronger has been poor and slow, and subject to some bad mistakes and being caught out of position. He has had trouble getting passes on the stick and they usually end up in the skates of the intended player when going across the ice. Even if his [Green] defensive play is not good enough for a regular spot in the top six. He more than makes up for it with his ability to generate offense, especially with the extra man. I would of rather seen any of the Flames big D, (or former D-man Phaneuf) than Pronger
