    Olympic Hockey Uniform Question

How come all the teams uniforms have the same design (minus the crest) except for Canada?

I haven't seen all the teams jerseys, but from what I have seen they all have the same design.

Actually I liked the German uniforms. Kinda a throwback to the late 80's, early 90's Canucks....... Kinda like they planned that design for Vancouver..... Hmmmmm.

The German flag sorta pre-dates the Canucks' jerseys of yesteryear, but yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they tailored them a little to evoke the memory. I noticed that a couple of the German bobsleighs also had some maple leaves on them.

As for the overall design, Canada had to go through an extensive cosmetic makeover this year so that the Hockey Canada logo wasn't featured, so they probably just went all-out in the re-design effort. I didn't think much of it at first, but as they win more and more they're growing on me. :)

Well, aside from the logos the jerseys themselves have the same look to them. The black German uniforms are unique, but their white jerseys look like Finlands white jerseys, which in turn look like Russias jersey, which in turn look like Latvias jerseys, etc, etc.

The US is not the same design either. The regular USA logo has a flag as part of the S.

    Check it out.

Aside from the colours and the crest, the jerseys are the same (minus some difference in the striping). Some other teams have the same thing with some slight variations. Why did most of these countries want the same looking jersey as their opponants when they could have had a completely different jersey, like Sweden, USA, or Canada?
