What do I take to a card show?

Hey there,
I will be going to the Vancouver Sports card Spring festival this March and it will be my first card show. What I was wondering is what do I take? I was thinking:
Beckett
Cards (for trading)
$$

For you veterans out there, what else should I take? Or anything I should know about the Vancouver show?

Take cash too! I wouldn't expect to be able to trade BV for BV on cards at a show, unless it is a card for the dealers PC. They are there to make $ and need to be able to move the card they get from you, so expect maybe 50-75% for your cards from them.

Ya I was thinking about that. So should I not even expect to trade? When is the best time to go to a show? The frist day? The last day? When it opens? When it closes?

First day you get first shot at all the cards that are there, last day guys are definetly more likely to make deals.

I've tried the trade thing before..... and have never had much luck. I bring my wallett, a checklist..... and as was already said: a comfy pair of shoes.

Got it. How much % BV should I be looking for? For example, would a $100 BV Sakic for $30 be good?

bring lots of $$$. Beginning of the shows is where the steals are to be had. The end of the shows is to clear out dealers tables at rock bottom prices.

also bring a bag to carry your purchases. one card show i went to i didn't bring one and thank god one of the guys had a spare one cause my hands were full of cards. and like everyone else said comfortable shoes and maybe if the building is hot like an under armour shirt or something idk just throughing that out there
